Oxford Bus Company's 'Brand the Bus' initiative
Our buses are a moving canvas across cities and towns, which we want to put to good use.
The Oxford Bus Company runs a yearly competition to encourage charities and good causes to 'brand the bus'. The winner has their branding on a double decker bus for two years.
Good causes apply through Oxford Bus Company's website, with members of the public voting for the top ten. A judging panel then chooses the year's worthy winner. Previous winners of the competition include Girlguiding Oxfordshire (2019), HomeStart Oxfordshire (2020) and Blue Skye Thinking (2021).
The winners work with Oxford Bus Company to design a bus wrap that features the brand colours, logos and message of the organisation.
The bus company also offers runners up branding for the rear of the bus. 2021's runner-up, Abingdon Riding for the Disabled Association, was the first charity that saw their branding on the back of the bus.
We have chosen five of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals as our areas of focus. The brand the bus initiative shows our commitment to building sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11) and ensuring that we continue to be the local partner taking care of journeys that enhance the lives of people across the world.
