Investing in our people

The Investors in People (IiP) accreditation is an internationally-recognised standard that defines what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively.

The Go-Ahead Group and our bus and rail operating companies have been privileged to receive this accreditation. Our Head Office is ‘gold’ standard and Go South West is 'platinum' standard.

Go-Ahead Group’s Head Office was re-awarded the Gold Award in 2021. 100% of those interviewed said that they would recommend Go-Ahead as an employer to friends. In the 2021 accreditation we placed 8th out of 61 companies in the 'transportation and storage' category. 90% of colleagues also 'agreed' or 'strongly agreed' that we have a positive impact on society - with no negative responses to this question.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Citybus (part of Go South West) has a platinum accreditation. Platinum is the highest level of accreditation possible and is something only 2% of organisations achieve. This follows on from its win as 'Bus Operator of the Year' at the 2019 National Transport Awards. 

The IiP accreditation shows that we are committed to making Go-Ahead a place where colleagues will thrive and enjoy coming into work.
