Community

We connect billions of customers and their communities on our essential bus and rail services, ensuring people reach their destinations with a reliable, punctual and welcoming service.

We invest in our communities by engaging local suppliers which in turn promotes job creation. By partnering with local charities, we help them raise awareness about important issues in their areas.

We collaborate as a trusted partner to local authorities to innovate, invest and always improve.

Caring about wellbeing

Our colleagues care about all our customers and understand that some need support to use our services. We partner with organisations like Mind and Age UK to understand how our colleagues can offer the best support possible to all our customers.

For example, our chatty bus initiative works to reduce social isolation and promote discussions about mental health. Our operating companies Go North West, Go East Anglia and Oxford Bus Company, each facilitate their own chatty bus programmes, supporting customers locally.

Inclusive and accessible

Our services are for everyone so we continually develop ways to make bus and rail travel as accessible as possible. For example, adapting the design of our buses to be dementia friendly and providing double wheelchair bays and improved audio-visual systems.

Investing in local initiatives

We partner with local charities, helping them raise vital funds and raise awareness of important issues within their communities. Now in its third round, the Your Station, Your Community fund provides grants to local charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations, whose work is of key importance to communities on our rail network.
